Annual tournament raises nearly $40K for student scholarship and programs

OMAHA, NE ::  On Monday, October 1, Nebraska Christian College hosted the 2018 edition of its annual Golf Challenge, raising more than $37,000 for student scholarships and departmental programs. Undeterred by morning rain, participants thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful Tiburon course, clubhouse, lunch, and amenities. The event culminated in an Awards Dinner, complete with donor recognition, delicious buffet, and a wide array of prizes and giveaways.

Participants for this year’s NCC Golf Challenge came from four different states – as far as Rapid City, SD – and included nearly 50 friends, supporters, alumni, trustees, administrators, church leaders, and community members. A friendly group of NCC Ministry Honors Students volunteered to serve at the tournament, welcoming and assisting guests, and hosting various contests throughout the day.

University President John Derry and the entire NCC community extends a sincere thank-you to each of the 2018 sponsors, including: Curry Dental, Sapp Bros., Stefani Rowe Counseling, Gene’s Auto, The Universe Trucking, Werner Trucking, American Church Group of Nebraska, Rolling Hills Bank, Fairfield Inn of Papillion, Faithlife/Logos, HouseRight, Merle & Donna Ring Family, Millard Lumber, Rent-A-Van, TD2 Engineering & Surveying, and Sysco. The Hole-In-One contest car was provided by Lee Sapp Ford. Their generous financial support makes a significant impact in the lives of the many NCC students who benefit from scholarships funded in part by proceeds from this event.
