Mentored Ministry
Welcome to the Mentored Ministry information site. Over the course of the summer (2011) significant improvements are being made in the resources and materials available to equip the mentor/student relationship. Let’s be honest - the reality of mentoring is always messier in real life than in sounds on paper, but it is in the midst of the challenges that God does his best redemptive/formative work. Mentoring is at the core of who we are as an institution and together we want to create a community that encourages you and equips you to achieve your mentoring goals.
Click here to view a brief video introducing the Mentored Ministry program and its core objectives. Introduction and Objectives
Click here to view a 22 minute video describing our assessment of the Mentored Ministry program and some exciting new changes we have made as a result of that assessment. New for 2011-2012
Some new features will include:
- An Assistance/Feedback form where you can receive a quick response to your questions, concerns, or problems.
- Mentoring resources – a place where you can go to find useful information on specific issues related to the mentoring objectives.
- A mentoring blog for discussion about relevant topics, ideas, books, and resources for mentoring and spiritual formation.
- An interactive forum for encouraging each other and sharing mentoring experiences and insights.
- A regular newsletter to keep you informed about campus life and events that might impact the mentoring relationship.
The objective of Mentored Ministry remains unchanged. It is a huge task but together we submit to allowing God to fulfill these purposes in us and in one another as we share together in our mentoring relationships:
- Shaping the Heart through personal, moral, and spiritual formation
- Shaping the Will through discovering our calling and giftedness for ministry
- Shaping the Mind through theological reflection that enables us to think and act biblically
- Shaping the Hands through the development of practical ministry skills
Thanks for taking the time to explore these resources. Whether you are a student, seasoned mentor, or someone considering being a part of our mentoring community we want to hear your comments and reflections.
