Summer Camp Teams

…………………………

NCC supports our local and regional summer camps by providing current NCC students to serve both the camps and their guests. Students are trained to serve in the camps in a variety of ways. They help witness, mentor, counsel, and most importantly they are trained to listen to the needs of each student attending your camps.

Some of our students are gifted speakers; some of them are gifted musically; some have been gifted as encouragers; some are gifted as listeners…but all of them have a heart for Christ.

While these students are your best resources, they are also our best resources and, unfortunately, a limited resource. It is no secret that we make these students available to summer camp deans and directors because they help create an association between NCC and prospective students. It is important to keep in mind that they do summer camp team for multiple purposes. As we make decisions about how best to use these resources we want to communicate the guidelines by which we decide on which camps they attend. In addition to our camp teams, several faculty and staff have made themselves available to be at your camps upon your request this year.

The following is a list of priorities by which we determine camp team participation:

1) Proximity to NCC – We are a regional college at best and it is best for us to go to places where we are already known. Staying within the Midwest also allows us to streamline our transportation costs of these teams.

2) Age of the Campers – We are most interested in supporting high school camps, as they provide us direct access to the audience that is most compatible to the recruitment needs of NCC.

3) History of enrollment– The best opportunities for the college come from camps that have students who enroll at NCC.

4) Size of the camp – We will prioritize a camp that has a larger audience to get the greatest exposure for NCC.

5) NCC Relationship – Sometimes a camp dean/director is a NCC alumnus or has some other relationship to the college; we value these relationships and want to honor them when possible.

As we determine camp team participation, we are trying to be as transparent as possible so you have an understanding of our process if we are not able to be present with you this coming summer. Because camp teams are a limited resource for NCC we are always faced with difficult decisions, and we wanted to give you some insight as to our priorities when making these decisions.

Please complete the following form to request support for your camping efforts for the summer of 2012. Camp requests submitted by March 1, 2012 will be given priority.
