We are excited to provide you this information about GORF, our annual spiritual emphasis weekend for sixth, seventh, and eighth graders!
Weekend highlights:
Breaking the Ice– This year’s theme is rooted in the idea that it is often hard to tell the world about its Savior. The proverbial “breaking the ice” is so hard because of the fears that we take into that encounter. The weekend will focus on building up the courage and confidence of a student’s witness for Christ in ways that with help produce a positive, God-ordered outcome, and not one that will turn away those we care about.
Tentative Schedule:
Friday, February 3
5:00 – 7:00 PM Registration (optional meal available on campus table d’hôte , $5 per person)
7:00 – 10:00 PM Worship and Session #1 (please bring one digital camera/phone with camera)
10:00 – 11:30 PM Play-time (We would encourage students to bring their outdoor winter gear including ice skates for those students who have them)
Saturday, February 4
7:00 – 8:00 AM Breakfast
8:00 – 10:00 AM Worship Session #2
10:00 – 11:00 AM Group Activity
11:00 – 12:30 PM Lunch (on your own)
12:30 – 2:00 PM Worship and Session #3
The featured speaker is the Teaching Pastor from Stevens Creek Church in Augusta, GA – Dave Willis. Dave was the youth pastor for several years at Northeast Christian Church in Lexington, KY before heading to Georgia. Dave is a gifted communicator, having studied communication at the University of Kentucky as well as Biblical Studies at Cincinnati Christian University. Dave has been married for ten years and has three boys. Students will thoroughly enjoy the wit and passion that Dave will bring to this weekend.

Registration and Housing:
- We will have a two-step registration process. Step 1 is the online registration form (located at the bottom of this page) that indicates the estimated number of students and sponsors who plan to attend. This allows us to plan appropriately for food and housing. Step 1 of the registration process is due by Monday, January 23 at 5:00 pm. Any group that does not complete Step 1 by the due date will be assessed a $100 service charge. Step 2 is to print and complete the detailed registration form that includes name, address, phone, and email for each attendee. This form is to be turned in with payment at the registration table upon your arrival. Payment can be made by check, cash, or credit card.
- The cost of the event is $25 for students and $10 for each sponsor. Churches are to provide an appropriate number of gender-specific sponsors for their group.
- Housing will be available at Nebraska Christian College, but requests must be sent to admissions@nechristian.edu by Monday, January 23 at 5:00 pm. This is a firm deadline and is on a first-come-first serve basis. After this date we cannot guarantee your housing.
